I would like to start by saying that I love Atlas Obscura. It’s a great site full of history, mystery, and just plain weirdness. Right up my alley. I also have a *thing* about the middle ages. Well, the romanticized version. I don’t want to poop in a bucket or catch the plague. I do want to wear the pretty clothes and eat the awesome food and have ladies in waiting and drink wine with every meal. I want to be a princess, and I’m not even sorry.
I have had this particular article, I Tried a Medieval Diet, And I Didn’t Even Get That Drunk, pinned to my favorites for about a year, and now I’m sharing it with you. This brave author tested out a Medieval diet so that you don’t have to. I have certain dietary restrictions that will prevent me from ever being able to follow in her footsteps myself, but if any of you are inspired to do so, please report back so that I can live vicariously through you.
